Since releasing in Early Access back in 2020, Baldur's Gate 3 has received countless updates, adding new races, classes, and quests. It won't be long until there is more content for parties to come together and explore.Looking for everything you need to know about Baldur's Gate 3? D&D fans rejoice! Baldur's Gate 3, the RPG set in the Forgotten Realms and adapting the D&D 5E ruleset, is almost ready to fully launch. By adding a much sought-after feature for RPG games so soon into the early access people, Baldur's Gate 3's multiplayer allows fans to create memories and play together with friends, allowing a party to share together in the growth the game will undergo. While the game has plenty of early access bugs, and the multiplayer servers can be bogged down by the excitement of players trying to connect and enjoy the new experiences the game has to offer, it is already clear that Baldur's Gate 3 is on track to be a popular and memorable game. By allowing players to have the freedom to explore and make choices, the story is enriched as a multiplayer experience for everyone, giving more development to all characters and avoiding situations where one person is the key focus for the entire campaign. This gives autonomy to Baldur's Gate 3's party members and doesn't limit everyone to what the host of the game wants to do. Players can stay together as they explore a new part of the map or town, or they can split out and do exploration and fighting by themselves. There are no limitations on what the party can do separately or together in an area. Once the game is set up and all the players have joined, there is a surprising amount of freedom to enjoy in Baldur's Gate 3's multiplayer, even in early access. From here, the settings can be accessed and players can be invited to join and reassigned to their personal characters. To resume the same save with the same players, the host loads the game and selects 'escape' and then opens the session menu. ![]() The host is also in charge of restarting Baldur's Gate 3 sessions at a later time, as the data for that adventure will be saved on the host's computer. The host of the game will be the only one able to save the progress of the party. This character can be reassigned to another person at any time by the host of the game. ![]() If a player decides to leave their Baldur's Gate 3 multiplayer session, their character will be assigned to another player that is still signed in to the game. This will make sure that only people invited are able to join the new game. Toggle the 'Who can join your game' option and select to allow friends only. From here, simply hit 'create' and this will bring the player to a screen that allows them to select who can join theirr party. To set up a multiplayer game when creating a new save file on Baldur's Gate 3, a player must select the Multiplayer option from the main menu.
